Hold & Spin explained
Hold & Spin is a bonus round where special coins lock in place and only the empty positions spin again. In Dragon Fortune it starts when 6 or more Gold Coins land. You get 3 respins, and every new coin that lands locks and resets the count to 3. The round ends when the respins run out or all 15 positions are filled, and then the values of all the coins are added up and paid.
How the round starts
Six or more Gold Coins anywhere on the 5 x 3 reels start Hold & Spin. In Dragon Fortune that happens about once every 129 base-game spins on average. It can also start during Free Games, which carry on afterwards.
Respins and the reset
The coins that started the round stay locked. Every other position spins again. If at least one new coin lands, it locks too and you are back to 3 respins. If none land, one respin is used up. The round ends at 0 respins left, or at once when all 15 positions hold a coin.
What the coins are worth
| Coin | Value |
|---|---|
| Gold Coin | 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20 or 50 times the total bet |
| MINI | 10 times the total bet |
| MINOR | 25 times the total bet |
| MAJOR | The MAJOR jackpot pool |
| All 15 positions filled | The GRAND jackpot pool |
How a typical round ends
On average a Dragon Fortune Hold & Spin round finishes with about 7 coins and pays about 25.6 times the total bet before jackpots. Filling all 15 positions is rare: about once in 55,600 rounds.
Hold & Spin carries about 20 percentage points of Dragon Fortune's 96.04% return; the rest comes from line wins, scatters and Free Games.
