What does RTP mean?
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money staked on a game that is paid back as wins over a very long run. A 96% RTP means that across millions of bets about $96 of every $100 staked comes back as wins and about $4 is kept. It says nothing about a single session: short-run results swing well above and below it.
How RTP is worked out
For a card or coin game the RTP is exact: it comes from the chance of every result multiplied by what that result pays. For a slot it comes from every possible reel position and feature outcome, checked by simulating billions of spins.
House edge is the other side of the same number: a 96% RTP is a 4% house edge.
RTP is not what you will get
A session of a few hundred bets can end far above or below the RTP. How far depends on volatility: a game that pays large prizes rarely swings more than one that pays small prizes often, even at the same RTP. RTP describes the game over a very long run, not your next hour.

Questions
- Does a higher RTP mean I will win?
- No. It means the game keeps less of all stakes over a very long run. Any single session can still lose.
- What is a good RTP?
- Most online slots are set between about 94% and 97%. Some table games with correct play return more than 99%.
- Is RTP the same at every bet size?
- For OpalRove slots, yes: the return is the same at every bet. Video poker is an exception: the full return needs the maximum 5 coins.
